"An Informed Voter Is The Best Defense Against Bad Government"

On these pages we keep score of how legislators actually voted.  This is not a complete list of bills approved by the legislature, only the ones monitored on our Alerts page.  The Alerts page also shows a brief description of the bills and who introduced them. 

         "Purse Snatcher"                                        "Did NOT Vote"                                          "Super Saver"

If legislators voted FOR a bill we identified as BAD for Alaska, they received marks in the left hand "Purse Snatcher" column.  Legislators voting AGAINST this BAD legislation are marked in the right hand "Super Saver" column.

If legislators voted FOR a bill we identified as GOOD for Alaska, they received marks in the right hand "Super Saver" column.  Legislators voting AGAINST this GOOD legislation are marked in the left hand "Purse Snatcher" column.

Legislators who failed to vote for whatever reason were placed in the Did NOT Vote column.

Also on the Watchdog page is a link below each legislators name that will show you which legislation they either sponsored, co-sponsored or cross sponsored.  At the top of each page is a link that takes you to the APOC web site so you can see who contributed to each candidate in the 2002 election.  

Using these three "tools" (contributors, legislation sponsored, and voting records) on the Watchdog page, it is very easy to look at your legislators and figure out who they actually represent.  In most examples shown, legislators are clearly NOT representing the average citizens of Alaska!  In fact AK Voters research indicates that between 75% to 85% of Alaskans are opposed to what the legislature is doing!  

It is very important that average citizens learn the truth about those elected to serve us, and stop voting for those who do NOT represent OUR VIEWS and WISHES.  Remember,  "An informed voter is the best defense against bad government"!  So get informed, and then vote for a better Alaska!
