ANOTHER "TAKE THE PERMANENT FUND" LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON THE ROAD!!!
Future of Permanent Fund to be discussed in a series of public meetings early next week. The Senate Judiciary Committee (Senators SEEKINS Chair, OGAN Vice-Chair, Therriault, Ellis, and French) will hold these meeting to solicit public testimony regarding SJR 18, the Governor’s P.O.M.V. scheme and SJR 19, which would save the Permanent Fund for future generations of Alaskans. These meetings are an excellent opportunity for the public to make their feelings known on this important issue.
The first meeting will be at Kenai City Hall October 28, followed on October 29 at the Matsu LIO, and the Anchorage LIO on October 30. All meetings begin at 7 PM.
A rally in support of SJR 19 and against the P.O.M.V. scheme will be held at each location. Your support and attendance at these rallies will send a strong message of opposition to future raids of the Permanent Fund. Lack of public participation at these meetings is an open invitation for the Legislature to not only take the dividend but possibly the very fund itself.
People interested in participating at these rallies can call (907) 776-8008 or email akvoters@gci.net for details.
ALL ALASKANS SHOULD REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING FACTS:
Governor Murkowski's "endowment plan", a.k.a. the P. O. M. V. (percent of market value) scheme, if approved by a vote of the people, will eliminate constitutional protection of the Permanent Fund principal. Becoming extinct under their plan is inflation proofing of the fund. This endowment plan also invites legislative appropriation of the dividend. Their plan is all about providing a steady flow of revenue for funding state government at existing levels NOT about saving the Permanent Fund for future generations of Alaskans!
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE???
Alaskans living near these meeting locations should plan to attend. This is a great opportunity to get involved!
All meetings will be teleconferenced so Alaskans statewide can participate. Click HERE to find out if your local Legislative Information Office will be a teleconference site.
You can attend a rally in support of the Permanent Fund and against the P.O.M.V. scheme in each location. Call (907) 776-8008 or email akvoters@gci.net for details.
You can call or send an email to your friends, business associates, neighbors, and family statewide. Encourage EVERYONE to get involved!

Or you can do NOTHING and lose the Permanent Fund FOREVER!!!
