"An Informed Voter Is The Best Defense Against Bad Government"

GENERAL ELECTION COMING

"Don't Gamble With Alaska's Future - Become Informed"!

The general election will take place on November 2 this year.  There are many important issues and positions up for voter consideration.  To help Alaskans separate campaign rhetoric from fact, a new section has been added to the statistics page.  It analyzes the conflict between what the public wants and what the legislature actually does.  The subjects covered are:

Everyone should become informed on these important issues and share it with family, friends and neighbors.  The subjects above have a tremendous amount of information that needs to get out to all voters.  A grass roots effort will get this job done.  Letters to the editor and talk radio are great ways to help spread the word.  Electronic addresses for media are available on the links page.  Raw data from the 2004 public opinion survey series are available near bottom of the statistics page.

If you are going to be out of town or otherwise busy on November 2, early voting is available at many municipal clerk offices around Alaska.  A list of all legislators sorted by community, borough web sites, and election schedules has been provided for Alaska Voters convenience.

Always remember, "An informed voter is the best defense against bad government"!
