LEGISLATORS WERE NOT INTERESTED IN HEARING THE PUBLIC'S CONCERNS, BUT WE ARE!
Volunteers with the Alaska Voters Organization will be conducting public opinion surveys at the Ninilchik Fair August 20 - 22 and the Alaska State Fair in Palmer August 16 - September 6. Our theme this summer is "Don't Gamble With Alaska's Future, Become Informed!" Please stop by the booth, meet board members and volunteers, take a survey, and play one of the slot machines.
We will be encouraging every Alaskan to visit the Watchdog page prior to voting this fall. On the Watchdog page you will find voting records for legislators and governors from the 22nd legislature forward. We don't record every vote there, only the ones for issues identified on our Alerts Page as particularly bad or good for Alaska. Work on updating the watchdog and alerts pages is almost complete. There is a lot of information already posted and we will notify everyone when this project is complete.
In keeping with the gambling theme every Alaskan taking our survey will receive free tokens to play an actual slot machine. Those completing the contact information on the survey form will also be entered to win a slot machine for their very own!
We need a few more volunteers to help with projects in Ninilchik, Anchorage, and Palmer between now and the first week in September. Anyone interested in helping should contact our office. _______________
