"Spotlight on Juneau" "An Informed Voter Is The Best Defense Against Bad Government"

On May 20th the Alaska Voters Organization sent the following letter to all State Representatives and State Senators:

Afternoon:
Out of the 60 messages sent out only two representatives replied with questions for constituents. A big public "thank you" goes out to Representative Carl Gatto and Representative Les Gara for taking the time to reply. One can only assume the other 58 legislators already know what you think and are currently acting in your best interest.

DON'T GAMBLE WITH ALASKA'S FUTURE BECOME INFORMED!
Alaska Voters Organization volunteers will be conducting a series of public opinion surveys beginning at the annual Progress Days event in Soldotna this Saturday July 24 from noon until 5 pm. Our theme this summer is "Don't Gamble With Alaska's Future, Become Informed!" Please stop by the booth, meet volunteers and take a survey.
We will be encouraging every Alaskan to visit the Watchdog page prior to voting this fall. On the Watchdog page you will find voting records for legislators and governors from the 22nd legislature forward. We don't record every vote there, only the ones for issues identified on our Alerts Page as particularly bad or good for Alaska.
In keeping with the gambling theme every Alaskan taking our survey will receive free tokens to play an actual slot machine. Those completing the contact information on the survey form will also be entered to win a slot machine for their very own!
Anyone that would like to help us administer surveys at future events around Alaska should contact our office. These volunteer positions fill up fast so get your name in early! _______________
