Spotlight on Juneau
June 5, 2002

Hello Fellow Taxpayers:

A big thank you for everyone that completed our last survey.  The survey results can be found on the web site Statistics page.  It's called the "Post 22nd. Legislature Survey" , and is located below the " The Larry Lunch box & Susie Homemaker guide to Alaska's budget crisis ".  A special thanks to those offering suggestions for future survey questions.  We will put out another one in a few days, and encourage everyone to take a few minutes completing it.  These surveys are a great tool for us to help fine tune our future action plan.

We need to continue educating our friends and neighbors about the financial disaster in Juneau.  The more we can expose the truth , the harder it will be for special interest legislation, excessive spending bills and new taxes to pass.  We must attend political campaign rallies, participate in radio talk shows, and continue writing our letters to the editor.  We must ask the difficult questions and demand explicit answers of those wishing to represent us.  There are loads of questions located on the Alerts and Watchdog pages that can and should be asked of everyone seeking statewide office this fall.

This June 8 and 9 Alaska Voters will have an informational booth set up at the Kenai River Festival.  This will be held at the ball fields in Kenai, across from the visitor's information center.  We look forward to seeing you there!  Anyone wishing to help man the booth should contact our office at 776-8008.  We will provide all the necessary training and visual aids.

On Saturday June 15, we will have an informational booth set up at Nikiski Days. This will give us another great opportunity to  meet with the public and spread the "truth" about what's really going on in Juneau.  If you have some spare time and would like to help us man this booth please contact the office at 776-8008.

We would like our members in other communities around the state to look for opportunities in your area (i.e. parades, festivals, fairs, other public events), where you can set up informational booths, floats in a parade, etc.  If needed, we can provide printed information and visual aids.  Please call or write with your suggestions today.

Enjoy this beautiful summer, but remember to keep an eye on the future of our beautiful state.  Together we CAN and WILL make a positive difference for the future of Alaska!

Sincerely,

Mike McBride
