Following the example of 18 other cities, towns, and counties in the United States, North Star Borough Bill of Rights Defense Council held their first meeting at the Noel Wien Library in Fairbanks Sunday 6, 2002. Monday the members testified at the Fairbanks City Council urging the council to pass a resolution to Repeal the Patriot Act and the Homeland Security Act. They will also testify at the Borough Assembly requesting the same thing.
By unanimous vote of members of Alaskans for Peace and Justice 11/26/02, Anchorage is now officially listed as a one of the progressive communities pursuing a resolution protecting Anchorage against the Patriot Act at .
Talk to your friends, talk to your community, talk to the people of Northampton, MA who worked with city officials to obtain the City Council's UNANIMOUS approval of a strongly worded Resolution in defense of the Bill of Rights ( this page at http://www.bordc.org/Northampton_res.htm)
