"Where does
the money go? "
By Carol Prior. May 2, 2004
My
husband and myself, both send out letter on the permanent fund asking for
the representatives not to support the governor's bill. Here we are again
asking again. Please let this come to a vote of the people.
I do not
support the "raping of the PFD" for the benefit of State government. I
use that money every year for paying off bills, and this is the first year
that we took a vacation with the money ( after 15 years) and now we are in
the hole.
My health
insurance costs me $468 per month for the 6 months the state lays me off.
And now I can't afford to pay the bills of what the insurance does not
cover. I can't tell you how much it is costing us now.
The
tobacco tax will definitely hurt us more. It already costs us $300 a
month for cigarettes, and now that will increase by another $100.
Please
tell me just where does the money go for the $1/pack that the state
already gets?
