Arctic Winter Games 2006 will cost us MILLIONS!!!

Scan of revenue assumptions provided by AWG 2006 organization committee.  Using their figures "super pass tickets" will generate $72,000 in sales, $24,000 in "gala" events, $22,500 for "opening ceremony", $10,000 for "event tickets", and $70,000 in tee shirt sales.  Grand total only: $198,500.

 

Cost to produce games: $5 million plus capital projects for a return of $198,500 gross, for a cost to benefit ratio of about 25:1 ($25 spent to generate $1 in sales).  Pretty expensive economic development any way you slice it!
