We
as 2 members of the Alaska Voters Organization just noticed an
educational hot button issue on the web site. How do each of you
Legislators expect to cut funding and spending with crap like HB
106 and SB 106?
It is fast becoming clear to us that partisan politics are the
real root problem with the failure of
our government to budget and spend within its means. The
Republicans and Democrats are a small minority, respectively with
regard to 53% of the Undeclared and Non Partisan majority voters
in this state.
We hope that organizations like Alaska Voters Statewide start
focusing on new non partisan candidates that are lacking the
Republican and Democrat label. We are letting a small minority run
the majority under our present legislative makeup.
Each
of you that sponsored HB 106 and SB 89 and plan to vote for them,
ask yourself "What happens if a typical lobbyist cannot vote for
me several hundred or a thousand times in my election bid next
time?" Will I be in the legislature at the end of 2004 and 2006?
You may wish to commission a study and consult with
Former
Representatives:
Drew Scalzi, Hal Smalley, Ken
Lancaster and Gail Phillips just to name four locally on the Kenai
Peninsula. Do you catch the drift?
